| Today, Captain Mike Michael and Javier Colon spent their lunch hour bringing a message of fire safety to a group of youngsters at the Lititz Public Library. Captain Michael shared the importance of having an exit plan, and practicing it, in the home with all the members of the family. Captain Michael taught the children the "Stop, Drop & Roll" technique for their personal safety.
There were many other important points brought to these children. The "masked man" in the pictures is Javier Colon who was the working manneqin as Captain Michael showed the youngsters what a fire fighter's protective set of gear and air pack look like and how they work. The children get to see that this scary looking guy really isn't scary at all.
Captain Michael entertained many questions. Both the children and adults had many questions to ask and were a great audience!! |
